The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium will be opening a new Living Planet Science Learning Campus. A groundbreaking was held on October 17.
You will soon see something very large moving onto the Aquarium grounds – it is U2’s famous stage called ‘The Claw.’ This 190-ton steel structure will be a monumental landmark for all to see, and a symbol of the Aquarium’s dedication to educating people about the ecosystems of the Earth. The Aquarium’s goal is to explain how we are all interconnected as one global ecosystem on the Living Planet.
To demonstrate the scale of the structure, the Draper City Fire Department sent water into the air to replicate the height of the Claw, which, at the top of the spire, will reach 165 feet.
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is a great attraction in Draper. Last year, they drew 829,000 visitors, with 167,000 visitors coming from out-of-state. The addition of The Claw and the Learning Center will take things to a new level, creating an even greater destination for guests and creating new jobs in Draper.
