The residential commingled recycling material that Draper City picks up is hauled to Rocky Mountain Recycling.

What Not to put in your Recycle Container (Draper City)

Drop-off Recycling Bins

To better serve the residents of Draper City, there are recycle drop off locations for the following two items:

Glass –  Rear parking lot of Draper City Hall, Southeast corner, 1020 East Pioneer Road.  Open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

Bulk Cardboard – Public Works Facility - 72 E. Sivogah Court (14525 S). Open Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding holidays. Boxes must be broken down so that they are flat.

Unacceptable Items in Recycling Bins

Do not use your recycling container for normal household or yard waste.
  • Carbon paper
  • Carpet and or/carpet pad
  • Diapers
  • Dirt or rocks
  • Dry-wall
  • Food waste
  • Glass
  • Large appliances (dishwashers, water heaters, washing machines, dryers, etc).
  • Light bulbs
  • Metal items such as steel poles, small appliances, large appliances, chain link fence, motors, transmission, bed frames, mob/broom handles etc..  The only items that are recyclable are aluminum cans (cleaned out), tin foil and disposable aluminum pans and plates (cleaned out.) 
    Motor oil, insecticide, herbicide, or hazardous chemical containers
  • Plastic bags - take these back to the grocery stores for them to recycle - do not place these bags in your recycle bin
  • Plastic film (plastic sheets, tarps or wrap)
  • Plastic utensils
  • All plastics not categorized as No. 1-7.
  • Soiled aluminum foil
  • Soiled napkins and paper towels
  • Styrofoam packing peanuts
  • Used bathroom or facial tissue
  • Wax coated paper
  • Wood or lumber
  • Yard debris
