The residential commingled recycling material that Draper City picks up is hauled to Rocky Mountain Recycling. Please click on the link for a list of what is acceptable to put in your Draper City Recycling container.

Drop-off Recycling Bins

To better serve the residents of Draper City, there are recycle drop off locations for the following two items:

Glass – Public Works Facility - 72 E. Sivogah Court (14525 S). Open Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding holidays.

Bulk Cardboard – Public Works Facility - 72 E. Sivogah Court (14525 S). Open Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, excluding holidays. Boxes must be broken down so that they are flat.

Acceptable Items in Recycling Bins

All containers must be empty.
  • Aluminum cans, trays and foil (trays and foil must be cleaned)
  • Aseptic packaging and gable top containers (milk and juice cartons)
  • Cardboard (non-waxed)
  • Carrier stock (soda, beer, carrying cases, etc.)
  • Chipboard (cereal, cake, tissue and food boxes)
  • Clean brown paper bags
  • Clean computer, school, gift wrap & notebook paper (no metal clips, spirals or binders)
  • Clean paper wrapping
  • Clean pizza boxes
  • Clean plastic containers that are categorized as # 1-7 (#3 & 7 narrow neck only)
  • Envelopes, office file folders (no plastic cards or stick on labels)
  • Magazines, catalogs and telephone books
  • Newspaper, including inserts (remove plastic sleeves)
  • Paper towel and toilet paper rolls
  • Paperback and hardcover books
  • Plastic buckets (5 gallons or less with no metal handle)
  • Steel and tin cans

Unacceptable Items in Recycling Bins


Do not use your recycling container for normal household or yard waste.
  • Carbon paper
  • Carpet and or/carpet pad
  • Diapers
  • Dirt or rocks
  • Dry-wall
  • Food waste
  • Glass
  • Large appliances (dishwashers, water heaters, washing machines, dryers, etc).
  • Light bulbs
  • Metal
  • Motor oil, insecticide, herbicide, or hazardous chemical containers
  • Plastic film (plastic sheets, tarps or wrap)
  • Plastic utensils
  • All plastics not categorized as No. 1-7.
  • Soiled aluminum foil
  • Soiled napkins and paper towels
  • Styrofoam packing peanuts
  • Used bathroom or facial tissue
  • Wax coated paper
  • Wood or lumber
  • Yard debris
