Responsibilities


The Planning Department is responsible for applying the city’s ordinances and regulations to:
  • Subdivisions
  • Commercial site plans
  • Conditional use permits
  • Similar application types
This department is responsible for processing applications for:
  • Zone changes
  • Variances
  • Special exceptions

Mission


The Planning Department provides regular assistance to the Draper City Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, City Council, and other boards and commissions. They also work toward performing excellent reviews of all developments, looking for creative solutions to problems and working closely with the Engineering Division, Public Works, and Fire Department.

This division strives to preserve and protect the city's historic past, and be proactive in guiding future city land use decisions.

Meetings


The Planning Commission meets two times a month on Thursday evening at 5:30 pm, Draper City Hall, 1020 E. Pioneer Road. The meetings are held after the first Tuesday City Council meeting of each month, and then two weeks after.
