Economic Development

PrestDraper City is one of the best places in the Salt Lake Valley to do business. Over the past few years, Draper has been very fortunate to welcome many new and exciting businesses and service providers to accommodate our growing population. Large or small, each one becomes an important part and member of our community. A number of new businesses have either moved to Draper or built new offices in Draper, including jet.com, eBay Campus, VPR Technology Group, Prestige Total Auto Care, and many others.

The Mayor and City Council strive to create an environment and atmosphere that is very appealing to new businesses and developers. The city assists local businesses to help them grow, expand and stay in Draper. Draper has had significant job growth from large employers who recognize the benefits of locating in our great city.

Draper City is situated in the perfect location near the Point of the Mountain, in the south end of Salt Lake Valley and the north end of Utah Valley. Salt Lake City is 19 miles to the north (27 minutes), and Provo is 29 miles to the south (38 minutes), with Interstate 15 traveling through the west side of Draper City.

Utah Transit Authority (UTA) opened a FrontRunner Station in Draper, near the Vista Pointe Business Community (eBay, jet.com). Two TRAX Stations provide residents easy access to areas in the Salt Lake Valley, the University of Utah or to the Salt Lake Airport.

The Salt Lake International Airport is located 23.5 miles northwest (28 minutes). The TRAX Stations in Draper offer a convenient and quick route to the airport via mass transportation. The Provo Municipal Airport is located 29.9 miles (28 minutes) south of Draper.
